RSPCA NSW cares for abandoned, neglected, sick and surrendered animals across the state. category1category2 Reset Walkin’ and Waggin’ on Sunshine – RSPCA’s Million Paws Walk is this Sunday! Date Updated: May 27, 2022 The sun will be shining this Sunday for Australia’s largest doggy day out, RSPCA NSW’s Million Paws Walk. There is still time to register for one of the six events taking place across NSW this weekend and raise vital funds for the thousands of animals who turn to RSPCA NSW each year. Those wanting to purchase tickets can go onto the Million Paws Walk website and use the code ‘SUNNYSUNDAY’, for a paw-some discount of 20% off event tickets. Tickets will also be available at the door. “RSPCA NSW has an open-door policy to help animals in need. Thirty thousand animals come through our doors each year, and by supporting the Million Paws Walk, you are gifting these animals a second chance,” said RSPCA NSW Community Fundraiser Manager, Ben Wilheim. “The event is an incredibly special opportunity for our community and their pups to come together to enjoy a fun-filled day out, whilst walking the fight against animal cruelty. After two challenging years, we are so excited to finally be able to physically celebrate with our supporters in the sunshine. It feels good to be back!” Participants and their pooches can expect lots of fun at this year’s Sydney Olympic Park event. There is a 2km or 4km walk option, followed by plenty of fun-filled activities for the entire family to enjoy such as stalls to browse, carnival games for the kids, raffles with lots of prizes, a professional paw-tography studio and even a puppicino and doggy cocktail bar. Last year, the RSPCA NSW Inspectorate investigated over 13,800 animal cruelty cases across the state. All funds from Million Paws Walk are crucial in keeping RSPCA NSW inspectors on the road, and critical in the continuation of community outreach programs, which focus on educating communities and school children about the importance of responsible pet ownership, preventing animal cruelty at the source.
