RSPCA NSW cares for abandoned, neglected, sick and surrendered animals across the state. category1category2 Reset Latest shelter updates regarding COVID-19 Date Updated: June 26, 2022 RSPCA NSW is committed to taking necessary and conscientious measures regarding the COVID-19 outbreak following the health advice and restrictions of the NSW government. Currently, due to the statewide lockdown, our shelters will operate differently to ensure the health and wellbeing of our staff, volunteers and the general public. Please read below to see how processes may have changed at your local RSPCA shelter. View all animals available for adoption here Adoptions (Sydney, Hunter, Illawarra, Blue Mountains, Coffs Harbour and Central West) Due to the restrictions related to the current COVID-19 outbreak, we have had to rethink the way that our shelters operate and process adoption to ensure the safety of our animals, staff and the community. We are thrilled to announce that we have launched a new adoption process for our potential adopters, One Stop Adopt! How does it work? Search www.rspcansw.org.au/adopt to find an animal that you’re interested in adopting. Once you find an animal you love, apply to adopt them here: https://www.rspcansw.org.au/adoption-appointment-request/ Our experienced adoption teams will review your application and contact you to discuss your lifestyle, experience and the animals’ needs and make sure you’re a great match. If successful, our team will allocate you an appointment at the selected shelter car park to meet your potential new pet and process the adoption. Once your adoption is processed, you can take your new furry friend home! Please note: Strict COVID-19 safety protocols will be carried out at all times. Our adoption teams will guide you through the appointment process when arranging your appointment and staff on-site will be there to help you. If you can, please bring a smartphone that you can use to check-in via our QR code. Tuggerah Care Centre Our Tuggerah Care Centre is considered an essential service (pet supplies) and therefore will continue to operate as normal, following all COVID-safe guidelines set out by NSW health. Foster Care Our vet treatments will continue for desexing and any urgent treatment with the current contactless process in place. Pickups for animals of foster carers are also operating with the current contactless process in place. Volunteering To ensure the safety of our volunteers, we have ceased volunteering at our locations for now. Our team has been in touch with current volunteers and those in the affected regions. The RSPCA NSW will continue to monitor the current situation and hope that you and your family remain in good health and stay safe. RSPCA was created 150 years ago to rescue and care for our state’s animals, and with your help, we will continue to protect them during times of crisis. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us on (02) 9770 7555.
