Little bit about Zoidberg, the Rescuoodle

Hi there, my name is Zoidberg! I’m a tiny little guinea pig who has been waiting patiently at the shelter for my forever home. I’ve had some tough times in care, having dealt with gut stasis more than once. Because of this, I’m looking for an experienced guinea pig owner who knows how to keep an eye out for signs that I might not be feeling my best. I’m naturally a bit shy and anxious, but with the right care and love, I can really come out of my shell. I love fresh greens (yum!) and, on occasion, I enjoy a little bit of sweet fruit as a treat.

I’m a social little guy when it comes to guineapigs and feel my best when I have a guinea pig buddy by my side. That’s why I’ll need to go to a home with at least one other guinea pig to keep me company. Life is just better with friends!

Before coming to the shelter, I wasn’t handled much, so I’m still learning to trust people. I prefer to have my own space and do my own thing. Because of this, I’d do best in a home without young children under 12. It’s not that I don’t like you humans—I just need time and patience to come out of my shell.

Now, let’s talk about my fabulous coat! As a long-haired guinea pig, I need daily grooming to keep me looking and feeling my best. I’m not the biggest fan of grooming time, so the cleaner you keep my housing area, the less handling I’ll need. That way, my coat stays clean, and I stay happy.
