Little bit about Mishka, the Rescuoodle

Hey there, I'm Mishka! I may come off as a bit timid at first, but trust me, once you get to know me, you'll see just how delightful I can be. I'm looking for guardians who understand me and have experience with timid or fearful dogs.

Life hasn't always been easy for me, but I'm working hard to overcome my fears and embrace the world around me. With a little time and patience, I know I'll blossom into the confident and loving companion I'm meant to be.

When meeting new people, I can display some appeasement behaviors and anxiety, so it's important for my guardians to recognize these signals and give me the time and space I need to feel comfortable. I may need monitoring around visitors until I form new bonds.

I used to live with other dogs and I absolutely love their company. However, I can become frustrated when I can't get to them due to being on leash or behind a fence. A home with another confident dog would be perfect for me, but I could also thrive as an only dog if someone is home often.

During assessments, I may initially show some appeasing behaviors and touch sensitivity, but I warm up quickly, especially if treats are involved! I'm highly food motivated and eager to learn.

Ongoing training will help boost my confidence and strengthen the bond between me and my handler. I'm quick to learn and enjoy working for my food, so I'll thrive in a home where training is a priority. I may need some work on housetraining, but with patience and consistency, I'll get there.

I'd do best in a quiet home with guardians who can understand my body language and help me feel safe and secure. Older children who can respect my boundaries would be a good fit for me.
