A million reasons to attend Million Paws Walk

Our biggest fundraiser of the year is happening this week!

Tails across the nation are wagging in anticipation for the 25th anniversary of Australia’s biggest doggy day out RSPCA’s Million Paws Walk, happening this Sunday 19 May.

The silver jubilee of the nation’s walk to end animal cruelty is less than a week away. There is still time to register and raise vital funds for animals in need.

One million dollars per week is needed to keep RSPCA NSW shelters operating and our inspectors on the road investigating cruelty cases. Less than 2 per cent of funding comes from the government.

“Over 34,000 animals turn to RSPCA NSW for help every year and we can continue to care for them when they need us most because of our generous supporters,” says RSPCA NSW Acting Community Fundraising Manager Danielle Cameron.

“Million Paws Walk is our biggest fundraiser of the year; nothing can top a fun day out with your furry four-legged friend raising funds for a great cause”.

On average, the standard daily expense for a canine in shelter at RSPCA NSW is $19 per day. For the cost of one adult ticket you can help provide a day in care as well as vaccinations for dogs like Midnight at our Sydney Shelter. A family ticket covers two nights at the hospital clinic not to mention a day out you and your children will never forget!

For those who took on the Million Paws Challenge and raised more than $500 prior to the event, there will be a Million Paws Club with special treats for the hardworking humans and pooches.
