RSPCA Rescue Run: 67 km for 67 animals in need

Join RSPCA Rescue Run this October and run, walk, or roll 67 km to help prevent animal cruelty.

Staring Monday 18 October 2021, participants will have two-weeks to fundraise and reach the 67 km goal, representing the 67 animals experiencing cruelty every day.

Every dollar raised from RSPCA Rescue Run will help RSPCA inspectors investigate the 14,425 cruelty reports received each year.

  •  $31 can provide a kennel, bath and meals for a neglected dog that has been rescued
  • $55 can help pay for the transport of animals to shelters to increase their hopes of being adopted
  • $100 can help keep one of our brave Inspectors on the road fighting animal cruelty

“The Rescue Run is open to everyone, you do not need a pet to join in,” said RSPCA NSW Senior Fundraising Manager Inbar Millo.

“Whether you’re a dog-lover, cat-person, or prefer more exotic creatures in your life, this is your chance to get moving for animals in need.”

Sign-up to the RSPCA Rescue Run online at rspcarescuerun.org.au to receive a personal fundraising page and access to resources to share your progress with family and friends.

The 67 km challenge can be completed in one day or multiple days during the month and do not forget to share your progress on social media with the RSPCA NSW community by using @RSPCANSW and #rescuerun.

About RSPCA NSW

RSPCA NSW is a community-based, not-for-profit, animal welfare charity that protects, cares for, treats and rehomes animals across New South Wales.

Since 1928, the RSPCA NSW Inspectorate has performed a statutory role in enforcing state animal cruelty legislation. Over 35 dedicated inspectors investigate complaints against all types of animals, in all kinds of situations. The Inspectorate exists first and foremost to help people help their animals, and it is their intent to keep animals with their owners when it is in the ‘animal’s best interest to do so. They are empowered to deal with serious animal cruelty offences by the use of statutory powers and enforcement action.
